Temperament :
This breed's standard temperament can be described as friendly and good natured, however, it can also be strong-willed and mischievous. English Setters are energetic, people-oriented dogs, that are well suited to families who can give them attention and activity, or to working with a hunter, where they have a job to do. Inside they tend to be lower energy and love to be couch potatoes and lap dogs that love to cuddle. Many are good around children.
Grooming :
The English Setter is an average shedder with a soft, flat coat of medium length. This dog should be brushed regularly to prevent tangles, and extra attention is usually required during the shedding seasons. Baths or dry shampoos should be given only when needed
Exercise :
This breed needs quite a lot of exercise. They do have a tendency to wander so make sure your garden is well fenced.
