Temperament :
Exceptionally bright he is easy to train as alarm dog. Affectionate, of a happy nature, he is amiable, a charmer, playful and even a bit of a clown. He loves children and plays endlessly with them.
Grooming :
The Havanese has a double coat that sheds little to no hair, particularly if brushed regularly. The coat can appear straight, wavy or curled, and regular grooming is required to keep it soft and free of tangles. Clipping it short often makes grooming a great deal easier. Otherwise, a thorough brushing at least twice a week is needed.

These are active little dogs and play will take care of most of their exercise needs, but they do love walks and especially to romp in the open.
