Temperament :
The Irish wolfhound should be, and usually is, sweet natured and friendly. If socializes from an early age their temperament should be sound and the breed should be good with people and with other dogs. However, they are not always good with other animals and that is something that should be borne in mind. It is important to understand that the Irish wolfhound, like all the Sighthounds, is historically a hunting dog.
Grooming :
A total of 30-40 minutes a week is required, usually 10 minutes at a time, using a stiff brush through the coat. Ears should be checked for dirt and toenails trimmed if necessary.
Exercise :
Mature dogs should be walked for at least 30 minutes a day. At home they will spend most of their day sleeping at your feet.
