Temperament :

Poodles are intelligent, alert, and active. Arguably one of the most intelligent breeds, historically, their aptitude has made them ideal for performing in circuses across the globe for centuries. Classified as highly-energetic, poodles can also get bored fairly easily and have been known to get creative about finding mischief. Poodles are extremely people-oriented dogs and, therefore, are eager to please. Standard Poodles in particular tend to be good with children. Poodles are adaptable and easy to train.

Grooming :

There are many different ways to groom your poodle. There are the show trims and the pet trims. Only three trims are allowed in the conformation show ring, Puppy Clip, Continental Clip, and English Saddle Clip. Poodle show clips require many hours of brushing and care per week, about 10 hours/week for a medium poodle. Poodles are usually clipped down as soon as their show career is over and put into a lower-maintenance cut. Pet clips are much less elaborate than show clips and require much less maintenance.

Exercise :

Short walks and indoor play does the trick for the toy poodle, while the larger varieties do well with a routine opportunity to stretch its legs with a good workout. The medium sized Poodle may also appreciate the chance to apply its swimming skills.
