With their sled dog heritage, and an untrained Samoyed has no problem pulling its owner on a leash rather than walking alongside.

Grooming :

It needs to be done on a daily basis. A daily brush will keep them looking clean, with a more thorough grooming once a week. If the coat becomes wet or muddy leave it to dry, it is then easier to comb the dirt from the coat. Samoyeds are typically very good about grooming themselves, and upkeep as far as bathing is minimal. They have virtually no smell or "doggy odor???.
