Giant Schnauzer is an intelligent dog that loves being around its owner. It is generally good with children in its own family, but be careful with smaller children as it may prove to be too rambunctious. They are playful dogs but at the same time quite bold and protective of its family. In general, the giant is good with other pets in the household but may exhibit aggressive behaviour toward strange dogs. The giant schnauzer makes an excellent watchdog.

Grooming :

The Giant Schnauzer has a stiff, wiry coat that sheds little to no hair and doesn't produce a doggie odor. Nonetheless, frequent grooming and clipping is needed to keep the coat clean and free of tangles and mats. A short wire brush should be used on a weekly basis, and the whiskers cleaned after meals. Hair around the eyes and ears should be kept trimmed
